Sew a tailored baby bib

Tailor a baby bib? Is it too serious ? Sewing a baby bib definitely a super easy task for experienced sewists.
There are 101 ways to draft and sew a baby bib, all are so cute with straps, velcro tap and appliques. However, referring to a few suitable measurements would never be redundant when you sew some baby bibs for charity or for gifts.

Here's the basic diagram for drafting:

A: diameter of neckline

B: radius of neckline

C:  side to side of bib

D: top to bottom of bib

Measurements: 

Infant size:       3 to 6 months    6 to 9 months    9 to 12 months

A:                         ~ 9 cm              ~ 10 cm             ~ 11 cm

B:                         ~ 4,5 cm           ~ 5 cm               ~ 5,5 cm

C:                         ~ 10 cm            ~ 11 cm             ~ 12 cm

D:                         ~ 22 cm            ~ 25 cm             ~ 27 cm

Toddler size:   12 to 18 months     18 to 24 months

A:                         ~ 12 cm              ~ 13 cm

B:                         ~ 6 cm                ~ 6,5 cm

C:                         ~ 20 cm              ~ 25 cm

D:                         ~ 35 cm              ~ 40 cm

Materials: ( I used )
Cotton cloth ( any type and color you like )
Scissors
Sewing needle
Sewing thread
Sewing machine
Measuring tape & ruler
Tailor's chalk

Generally, you will have to draft and cut out 2 pieces for front and back parts. It depends on you to adjust the back of the neck part to suit your purpose, using straps or velcro tap. Leave about 1cm for seam allowance ( you can always trim it later ), pin 2 pieces together ( wrong sides ) and sew around the bib.

If this is your option too, then just pin right sides of back and front pieces together and sew around.

Using bias binding as straps is another good option:

For this bib, I sewed the neck lines ( wrong sides ) then turned over and topstitched it.

Remember to add appliques, isn't it an interesting part when sewing a baby bib?

Make a long bias tape and bind it around the bib, leave long ends so you can use them as straps.
