Stripy child hat - free crochet pattern

Just another stripy child hat....

You might wonder why I've made a few baby hat patterns even though I don't have a "model" 
( lol ). It's very simple 'coz I will just find "owners" for them after finishing.

Materials:

5,5mm crochet hook

Your favorite colors of yarn ( I used dark pink and light pink)

Yarn needle

Abbreviations:
Sc = Single crochet
Ch = Chain
Sl = Slip stitch
Inc = Increase
Dec = Decrease 
Tc = Triple crochet
Dc = Double crochet
Inc tc = 2 triple crochet in same stitch
Inc dc = 2 double crochet in same stitch
Hdc= half double crochet
Dec hdc= half double crochet 2 stitches together
Inc hdc= 2 half double crochet in same stitch

Start with color A

R1: Magic ring, 8 sts
R2: Ch 3 ( as 1st dc), make 2 dc in each sts around, sl to join, 16 sts
R3: Change to color B. Ch 3 ( as 1st dc), Inc dc, dc, ( 8 times), sl to join, 24 sts
R4: Ch 3 ( as 1st dc), Inc dc, 2 dc, ( 8 times), sl to join, 32 sts
R5: Change to color A. Ch 3 ( as 1st tc), Inc dc, 3 dc, ( 8 times), sl to join, 40 sts
R6: Ch 3 ( as 1st dc), Inc dc, 4 dc, ( 8 times), sl to join, 48 sts
R7: Change to color B. Ch 3 ( as 1st tc), Inc dc, 5 dc, ( 8 times), sl to join, 56 sts
R8: Ch 3 ( as 1st dc), Inc dc, 6 dc, ( 8 times), sl to join, 64 sts
R9: Change to color A. Ch 3 ( as 1st tc), Inc dc, 7 dc, ( 8 times), sl to join, 72 sts
R10: Ch 3 ( as 1st dc), Inc dc, 8 dc, ( 8 times), sl to join, 80 sts

R11 and 12: Change to color B. Dc around, 80 sts

R13: Change to color A. Hdc around, 80 sts

R14, 15,16: Hdc around, 80 sts

R17: Ch 3 ( as 1 dc), Inc dc in same st, sc into next st.  

( Crochet 3 dc shell-stitch into 1 st , sc into next st ) x 39 times ( fasten off with a sl st and weave in end)

This is a 20 inches child hat, adjustment is easy by decreasing or increasing the biggest round of the hat as you want.
