It's such a nice surprise to see many interests in my simple daisy applique :)
Moreover, I was asked if I could make a sunflower applique with many petals. Well ... yeah, I know I should give it a try and I like the way it turned out. Hope you like it as I do!
Materials:
5mm crochet hook
Yarn: yellow, brown
Needle
Abbreviations:
Sc = Single crochet
Ch = Chain
Sl = Slip stitch
Inc = Increase
Dec = Decrease
Tc = Triple crochet
Dc = Double crochet
Inc tc = 2 triple crochet in same stitch
Inc dc = 2 double crochet in same stitch
Hdc= half double crochet
Dec hdc= half double crochet 2 stitches together
Inc hdc= 2 half double crochet in same stitch
Crochet pistil part with brown yarn
R2: inc, ( 8 times), 16 sts, sl into 1st st to join, ch1
R3: 1 sc, inc, ( 8 times), 24 sts, sl into 1st st to join, ch1
R4: inc, 2 sc, ( 8 times), 32 sts, sl into 1st st to join, ch1
R5: 3 sc, inc, ( 8 times), 40 sts, sl into 1st st to join
Change to yellow yarn for petals part
Ch 6, sl into 2nd st from hook, sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sl into next st from 1st ch
( repeat 40 times, you'll have 40 petals)

DeleteThank you for this pattern. I ended up making it a bit smaller. Just did the first two circles and then shortened the petals by one stitch and deleted the DC. This made it the right size to put on my baby. Super easy!
