Now is a chunky and ribbed infinity crochet scarf pattern to try with crossed double crochet stitch. With different yarn colors and without the buttons, it can be a unisex crochet scarf, too. I enjoyed crocheting it while watching TV and stuffs ... so this one must be easy peasy for beginners.
Materials: ( I used )
Light weight yarn: ( holding 2 strands )
8mm crochet hook
2 buttons
Yarn needle
Abbreviations:
Sc = Single crochet
Ch = Chain
Sl = Slip stitch
Ch = Chain
Sl = Slip stitch
Inc = Increase
Dec = Decrease
Tc = Triple crochet
Dc = Double crochet
Fpdc = Front post double crochet
Bpdc = Back post double crochet
Inc tc = 2 triple crochet in same stitch
Inc dc = 2 double crochet in same stitch
Hdc= half double crochet
Dec hdc= half double crochet 2 stitches together
Inc hdc= 2 half double crochet in same stitch

Note: I holded 2 strands of light weight yarn and used a 8mm crochet hook for this infinity scarf. ( The materials I got in hand ). But this one is a free-size pattern, you can choose any size of hook and any type of yarn that matches to go with.
Crochet a chain of your desirable length ( mine is 1.6 m )
R1: dc into 3rd chain from hook, dc across.
R2: turn, ch 2 ( not count as 1 dc ), fpdc into same stitch, fpdc across.
R3: turn, ch 2 ( not count as 1 dc ), dc into same stitch, crossed dc across, end with a dc.
R4: turn, ch 2 ( not count as 1 dc ), dc into same stitch, dc across.
R5: turn, ch 2 ( not count as 1 dc ), bpdc into same stitch, bpdc across.
R6: same as R3
R7: same as R4
R8: same as R2
You'll see 3 ribbed lines and 2 crossed dc lines scarf like the following image.
Hdc around the scarf. When you reach one top of the scarf, crochet 2 loops ( with chain ) for 2 button-holes.
It depends on the size of buttons you use, crochet the loops that match them.
Dc = Double crochet
Fpdc = Front post double crochet
Bpdc = Back post double crochet
Inc tc = 2 triple crochet in same stitch
Inc dc = 2 double crochet in same stitch
Hdc= half double crochet
Dec hdc= half double crochet 2 stitches together
Inc hdc= 2 half double crochet in same stitch
